What better way to spend a COZEy Sunday afternoon than dressing up, sipping on coconut flavored tea and tasting a variety of miniature delectable pastries at High Tea? This High Tea was more special than you could have imagined though. High Tea: Survivor Style celebrated life and victory in a powerful way.
I sat across the table from women who had survived abuse, chronic illness, cancer, and Fear. Women who now appreciated and valued life more because someone threatened to take it away. No longer would they not enjoy life to the fullest.
You see most of us know a survivor, or 2, or 3. I believe it is important to hug those people a little longer, tell them often how much we appreciate them, and at every opportunity give them a reason to smile.
Together we tried a variety of teas offered at Coze Tea Studio, enjoyed croissants, peach sparkling water, and desserts that left us all satisfied. What I appreciated most about this experience though was the laughter, the calmness, the freedom to just be in the moment.
Life is short and not without its pain and tribulations. Make every effort to enjoy your journey and be a light to others around you because you never know their circumstances. I'm truly thankful for the time I shared at High Tea: Survivor Style and the opportunity to treat these women as the Queens they are even if it was just for the day.
