I know everyone is currently social distancing due to COVID19, but I can't help but to be optimistic. I look forward to basking in the sun's rays, sipping a cold beverage while catching up with friends, and all that spring style has to offer once this over. In the meantime, I figured I would share some style tips to prepare you for spring events and ideas that can also serve as Coronavirus fashion.
I recently had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot with my girlfriends to celebrate my 31st birthday. We were styled by the talented Bunni aka Vintage Bae of Shop Yummi. She perfectly paired her thrifted finds with the Blessed and Faith over Fear tees Pretty Lane offers.
Here are some must have pieces:
1. A blazer or light jacket: For those days when there's a light breeze, a blazer or light jacket nicely pairs with a blouse or t-shirt to enhance an outfit while keeping you warm. I prefer a contrast so if my shirt is plain, I add a blazer with a splash of color or abstract print. Pick whatever style blazer or jacket suits your taste.
2. Light denim jeans: You can't go wrong with blue jeans. This spring add some light denim to your wardrobe. They can soften your look and make a statement all at the same time. The jeans can be high waist, wide leg, distressed, etc.
3. Abstract prints: I absolutely love bright colors and funky prints. Our wardrobe should never be dull. Stripes, polka dots, ombre fabric, you name it. Get into it this spring. Vintage fashion is big on prints. Check out your nearest Goodwill, CitiTrends, or consignment shop for unique finds at a low cost. Consider reaching out to Vintage Bae for some pieces as well directly in her store.
4. Big belts and chains: Belts are necessary for more than just keeping your pants up. They spice up any bottoms, no belt loops required. You can even use a long necklace, belt or chain around your mid-section. Get creative this spring.
What about while I'm stuck at home?
I totally understand your dilemma. While COVID19 has us on lockdown take this time to still dress up for YOU. Honestly, social distancing can become hard on us if we let it. Continue to connect with friends and family, get dressed up for work (at least the top half of you), and practice self care.
Corona Fashion Necessities:
> Pretty Lane t-shirt of course: There's a variety of comfortable, fashionable statement pieces for you to choose from.
> Maxi skirt: Maxi skirts are lightweight additions to your wardrobe that can work for stepping out or for sitting in.
> Scarves: I love a good neck scarf but I'm talking about head fashion. I think most of us are over not having access to our salon/barber shop at this point. A scarf can easily solve the bad hair day problem and take your look to another level.
I hope you enjoyed these tips!! Check out a few images from the photoshoot below. Follow the wonderful talent that made it possible at their Instagram handles.
